Shaun Valentine is a drummer and percussionist from Los Angeles, California. He performs with groups such as The Jazz Cartel, Sweet Niece, Wise John, David Divad, and High Babe. Shaun plays around town regularly, some of the venues he has played at include: The Hollywood Bowl, The Baked Potato, Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney, Vitello's, and Clifton's. He has toured internationally with The Rip'em Ups in France and Spain, as well as across The UK with the CSUN Jazz A Band.

Shaun graduated from California State University, Northridge in 2016 with a degree in Jazz Studies. While at school, he took lessons from three great drummers from across the musical spectrum, Gregg Bissonette, Dick Weller, and Gene Coye.  Outside of school, he has studied with Joe Porcaro, Fred Dinkins, and Dave Valentine (his father, and first drum teacher).

Shaun comes from a very musical family which includes: a music copyist, doo-wop singer, recording engineer, choral soloist, flautist, guitarist, sousaphonist, pianist, and a fellow drummer. This led to a great amount of exposure to music from a very early age.  His family has given him much support throughout his early childhood and career.

You can catch Shaun playing around Los Angeles practically every week! The best way to stay up-to-date is to follow his Instagram: @percusshaun. Though, be advised, he does post a lot of videos of him dropping sticks....
